WHATS ON

STRAW BEAR WEEKEND

Saturday 10:30-3:30

The Straw Bear will be back on our streets again in January. Starting with a procession, the Straw Bear will dance through the town accompanied by musicians, plough boys with the plough and followed by many dance teams to fill the streets with colour whatever the weather!

There will be a storyteller in a local venue when you need a break from following the bear!

Keep your eyes open on the website or social media for evening events that are planned over the weekend where you can join in with a dance or watch some local artists.

Sunday

The Straw Bear is burning takes place on the Sunday lunchtime. This is usually a public event and last year took place at the Decoy Lakes. Keep an eye on the website for further updates as we have them for the next festival.

The Straw Bear festival is in the main, a free event and run by volunteers. Please do buy a yearly badge on the memorabilia stall or from our online shop to support the continuation of the festival for years to come. Of course, you are also welcome to make a donation too.

We hope you enjoy the event. Thank you!
